Do razor blades last longer with softened water?
A razor blade will last longer with softened water.
Why, we are not absolutely certain but we did some experiments and found that in hard water they lasted two weeks and in softened water they lasted seven weeks.
Photographs through an electron microscope showed the blades receiving farm more damage in the hard water than in the softened.
We believe that the hardness minerals in the hard water, which are little rocks, blunt the blade.
