Harvey Water Softeners - Formerly Kinetico
Harvey Bowden, our then Managing Director, thought there must be a better way to soften water in the home and set about designing a new type of softener. Whilst trying to find a valve to suit his new design idea he came across Kinetico Inc., at a trade exhibition in the U.S.A. The American design was too large for the British kitchen so a new, smaller cabinet was designed this was the MK1.
Very quickly the MK1 Kinetico Softener became a market leader with its twin cylinder, non-electric design. This was followed by the Kinetico Compak.
We then introduced Harvey’s Block Salt to the Kinetico Softener. It made salt loading easier and was packaged in boxes with a handle, and so was lighter than the bags of tablet salt and much more convenient for the user.
In our aim to always offer the best possible water softeners, in April 2001 we introduced an all new British water softener to the market. The New Block Salt Softener is the most efficient and reliable British designed and manufactured water softener available today. It features the unique twin cylinder duplex parallel design, which gives it outstanding flow rates and salt efficiency levels.
Our policy is that all customers must be Happy Customers and we try to look after each and every one of them via our Nationwide Dealer Network and directly through our retail department.

Over the years the company has changed its name;
Initially from Surrey Softeners Ltd to Harvey Softeners Ltd in 1979 and then to Kinetico Ltd in 1987.
When we introduced our own UK manufactured products in 2001 we changed our name back to Harvey Softeners Limited.
